Nylon filament is a polyester sewing thread wound with multiple filaments, suitable for a wide range of sewing products. The main physical and properties of nylon filament are as follows:
1. Form The longitudinal surface of nylon is straight and smooth, and the cross section is round. Nylon is alkali-resistant and not acid-resistant. In inorganic acid, the amide bond on the nylon macromolecule will break.
2. Strong elongation and abrasion resistance Nylon has high strength, large elongation and excellent elasticity. Its breaking strength is about 42-56 cN/tex, and its breaking elongation is 25-65%. Therefore, nylon has excellent abrasion resistance. It is an ideal material for making wear-resistant products. However, the initial modulus of nylon is small, it is easy to deform, and its fabric is not crisp.
3. Hygroscopicity and dyeability The hygroscopicity of nylon is the better among common synthetic fibers, and the moisture regain rate is about 4.5% under normal conditions. .
4. Light resistance and heat resistance, etc. Because the end groups of nylon macromolecules face light, the nylon becomes yellow and brittle, so the light resistance and heat resistance of nylon is poor, and it is not suitable for making outdoor fabrics.
